The panic attacks during pregnancy are caused by various reasons, which could be physical, as well as mental, emotional and psychological. There are several physical reasons. When one gets pregnant the menstruation cycle stops, the body has almost over flowing hormones. Other than that there are several physical changes. The skin stretches because of the growth of the tummy and the blood circulation changes. The blood sugar and glucose levels start to fluctuate. Then there are many psychological reasons. The to-be-mother has so much going on outside and inside her. She has to cope with almost infinite pressures. First of all her identity is going to change for good. She can no longer maintain her figure and also she can’t say if she will ever be able to regain the figure that once she and others loved. The fear of the unknown keeps the mind of the pregnant woman in grip. At times the to-be-mother has relationship issues too.
For example sometimes the pregnancy is not wanted by one or both of the partners. In fact, usually the accidental pregnancy generates panic attacks from both the partners. If the partners are not married and one of them does not want to get married after the pregnancy then too the issue can become a cause of the stress and panic. If both of the partners do not want to get married, then the peer and social pressures can generate the stress. Sometimes the dad-to-be becomes panicked. His identity and role is also going to change which can generate anxiety and even depression too, for the panic solution for the dads-to-be.
